WORDS – SENTENCES
Mutterings And Murmurs . Poly Tics . Social StudiesIf only people had learned or had the natural propensity to make the following statements, in any language, and with sincerity, we may not be in the these perilous, existential times.
‘I don’t know why I said that’
‘I don’t know why I did that’
‘I am ashamed’
‘I apologize’
‘How can I make it up to you?’
If only a majority of people had the self awareness, honesty, integrity, compassion and humanity to know the difference between right and wrong and good and evil. If only people had the emotional intelligence to understand that their words and actions have consequences, good or malevolent.
What happened?
Have people developed such an unwarranted sense of ego, entitlement and narcissism that they have lost all empathy for others? That this mindset exists in a time of fear is a horrifying marvel.
Has a creeping ideology of victimhood and immoral indoctrination led to a devaluation of life that any crimes against humanity can be waved off with perceived grievances or that any horrors are permissible in the interest of the common good?
What happened to saying “I’m sorry” and meaning it, with a sincere explanation?
Current crimes against humanity, if unchecked, will take humanity to an existence where there will be nothing and no-one to apologize to and no-one that thinks they owe anyone an apology. Who will come out to say, after their evil has been defeated, “We are so sorry that we killed billions of humans to achieve total world power so that we might enslave the world for our pleasure”.
Would we have the compassion to forgive them before we put them to death for their crimes?
I don’t think I could.
You?
