“Even anti-war Isrealis, peace and equity loving Liberals and proud liberty loving Conservatives are afraid to say that Gazans are human” – Howard

“On March 18, 2025, a significant massacre (murder) occurred in Gaza where over 180 children were killed, marking one of the largest one-day child death tolls in Gaza’s history according to Defense for Children International Palestine (DCIP). This event highlights the severe impact of the ongoing conflict on children in Gaza, with DCIP documenting child fatalities since 2000. The overall death toll in Gaza has been reported to be pushing towards 46,000, with many of the casualties being women and young children.”
Voltaire’s quote, “It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets,” suggests that while individual murders are typically punished, mass killings and violence, often associated with wars or large-scale conflicts, can sometimes go unpunished due to the power and grandeur surrounding such actions.
This statement highlights the potential for double standards in how society deals with acts of violence, where those who commit mass killings might escape justice because their actions are perceived differently when sanctioned by authorities or celebrated in a grand manner. It should be noted that too many humans, both injected and non, have a tendency to override any empathy they may have or have had towards the suffering and death of others. Self interest and preservation take over. Parents will use their own children as shields to protect themselves. They will give their children up to the most horrific abuse and even death to project the right kind of virtue. They will trample and stampede over the elderly and infirmed to make the marked exit to flee perceived danger.
The Voltaire quote encourages critical reflection on the nature of power, perception, and societal values, questioning the consistency of ethical standards and the arbitrary nature of punishment.
And it isn’t just trumpets or drums that blare or bang as incidental music to the slaughter of war. Ambiguously gendered WarHawks and Soyboys rattle their Sabers (now banned in the U.K.) and sex toys while flags of many colors, flags of ideological virtue, wave and snap in the background or are flown in riots and parades or hang limp and useless in the air. All sides froth and spittle and gnash their teeth for justice, fighting for their own sense of false virtue over matters that happen elsewhere…after they have sipped their Starbuck’s lattes and gnawed on their Chic-Fil-A chicken bones.
Are people killing with their God on their side? Will someone else’s God avenge the killings?
Before Christianity, or any other religious ideology, except a select few, became unfashionable, censored and banned, and the churches and temples burned, and aborting babies and other forms of genocide became wildly popular, there existed, in many forms, a ‘Rite of Confirmation’. The Rite of Confirmation is a sacrament most commonly celebrated in the Catholic Church but other religions have adopted similar practices and they are often tied in with baptisms where the baptized person is sealed with the gift of a Holy Spirit and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ or some other deity. It is one of the Sacraments of Initiation, along with Baptism and the Eucharist. These rituals are meant to be a contract between some spiritual entity or guide and the initiated to hold them adherent to some level of observance that directs them, us, to be good humans and to at least do no harm.
When any side of any conflict claim virtue in the name of any religious or political ideology in the killing of other human beings, the idea of such acts must be personified. The killing of other human beings is very, very, personal, no matter how much any side of the conflict tries to de-humanize the other. Whether the killings are up close and personal through starvation and deprivation, hand to hand fighting, stabbings, mass open ditch executions or drone strikes and bombs from above, how can any sane human not see that these acts are in themselves evil, especially when so many of the casualties are women and children. The standard personification of evil is the Devil or Satan.

Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul and faith
I was ’round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Tzar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general’s rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
“Who killed the Kennedys?”
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reach Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, hit it
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
Cause I’m in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste
Um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
Um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what’s my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what’s my name
I tell you one time, you’re to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What’s my name
Tell me, baby, what’s my name
Tell me, sweetie, what’s my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
