1984 seems to be the ‘go to’ source for all things dystopian these days. It was one man’s rendering of a future under a totalitarian state. It was a horrifying story that needed telling. It was popular culture that was at first unpopular and alarmist with self satisfied elites then but has stood the test of time. The wish for 1984 to become fiction again is often expressed – usually as a slogan and on placards and signs. It is clever but belies the ominous nature of what is happening now. Mind numbing slogans are extremely important when brainwashing the masses. They facilitate unity of mass hypnosis and a sense of community against an enemy, real or contrived. Slogans can be used for good or evil. Better if they can be used to de-program those already drawn in to homicidal and suicidal ideologies.
Overheard at rallies everywhere:
NO VAX PASS! NO VAX PASS!
This, as others, can become monotonous.
For fun, why not blend in some replacements at your next rally or march. Some of your peeps will find it funny. How about:
NO CLASS PANTS!
NO FLAX HATS!
NO BRASS RATS!
NO GRASS SPATS!
NO BAT STATS!
NO PAT FACTS!
NO ASS HATS!
NO FAT CATS!
NO DING BATS!
NO BLACK GNATS!
NO SLIP MATS!
NO FLAT RACKS!
NO CRASS PRATS!
NO BRAT SCATS!
NO GIN VATS!
You get the idea.
Sometimes a slogan can just be a word.
Try this one:
FREEDOM!!!!!!
By itself the word can be a desirable state of being or something to maintain or die for but to shout it adnauseum with or without amplification has little meaning. The word is noise. Perhaps ‘WE ARE FREEDOM!’? Um, no. That doesn’t work. Try a synonym. How about ‘LEEWAY!’ or ‘PROFLIGACY!’ or ‘LAXITY!’? You could make the word ‘freedom’ more interesting by shouting it in another language.
‘LIRI!’ – ALBANIAN
‘VRYHEID!’ – AFRICAANS
‘SLOBODU!’ – BOSNIAN
‘GALALA!’ – FIJIIAN
‘FRELSI!’ – ICELANDIC
‘FRIHET!’ – NORWEGIAN
‘OZGURLUK!!’ – TURKISH
‘ᐃᓱᒪᖅᓱᕐᓂᖅ’ – INUKTITUT
‘RHYDDID!’ – WELSH
Shout them loud!
Shout them often!
Some Other Good Slogans :
‘EVERY DAY!’ – Australia
‘FUCK TRUDEAU!’ – Canada
‘HOLD THAT LINE!’ – Anywhere that speaks English
‘MY BODY MY CHOICE!’ -Anywhere that doesn’t kill babies or where there are people that don’t agree with forced medical experimentation
‘DO OR DIE!’ – Mahatma Ghandi
‘GUNS BEER FREEDOM!’ – Anywhere in the Republican U.S. (God bless em)
‘HAVE NO FEAR!’ – The fearful dying west
‘SAVE THE WHALE!’ – Outmoded
‘KILL THE BILL!” – Pick a bill, any bill
‘SAVE US!’ – heard anywhere people feel unsafe but are too scared to do anything about it
Imagine a conference room of a big box store, it’s managers seated quietly waiting for a visit from a district panjandrum worried about the recent restructuring rumours that have been floating. Imagine their relief when the subject of the meeting is a renewed push on workplace and food safety. The assembled managers are to brainstorm slogans to be posted throughout staff and work areas to remind employees. The exercise went so well, the panjandrum commanded the store manager to go and pull sign making materials from the sales floor. The managers were told to make signs using poster board and big colorful felt markers. The panjandrum was pleased to see his managers being creative, big felt pens in fists squeaking illiterate messages that care – like kids at a craft table. The most impactful meassage came in three posters. The first one boldly said ‘THINK SAFE!’ with an arrow pointing to the next board which said ‘ACT SAFE!’ with an arrow pointing to the next that blared, ‘BE SAFE!’.
These messages were posted with visible packing tape in several locations throughout the store, in the lunchroom, washrooms and hallways.
Crisis averted.
Everyone was safe.
The posters faded over time, became dog eared, and experienced vulgar graffiti.
You may not have noticed that in the mid nineties there was a worldwide push on Globalism, Free Trade, and Food Integrity and Occupational Health and Safety. The richest one percent became interested in the well being of western workers and labourers which may be why they sold out so many industries and jobs out to China…where life was cheap and health and life insurance were non-existent. The richest one percent were also interested in climate change and the environment that they were largely responsible for.
A Vision Of China – From Douglas Coupland’s ‘Jpod’ Published 2006
‘My first impression was that there wasn’t a square inch of land that wasn’t being used to grow defeated-looking crops of spinachy plants. The city was an endless Sim-like blend of shacks, bikes, more bikes and still more bikes, tour buses, black windowed Mercedes Benzes and gaunt people smoking and standing around in front of concrete apartment buildings, most of which looked like they were made of grey playing cards and seemed seismically unequipped, dreaming of the day gravity would take them back to mama. And the air! Okay, imagine that you’ve built a bonfire of telephone poles – the ones dripping with creosote – and throw in a fax machine, a photo copier, some asbestos stacking chairs and a roasting chicken. That pretty much sums up the air quality, though it changes moment by moment depending on where you go. Turn a corner and – thwack – different items are thrown into the flames : a load of running shoes, four thousand plastic bags, hog carcasses a dumpster of barbershop floor sweepings. And it’s thick – a few blocks down the street, buildings vanish like in a fog effect in a memory-impaired videogame from the early 1990’s. And it’s humid, and I hate humidity’.
Meat protein is essential. Yum.
In China, every structure is a factory, large or small. The happy collective carve matches and cocktail umbrellas. They sew little symbolic graphene laced masks to be shipped to big bad America to use on little children. Worker slaves work under horrifying conditions for micro yuan’s and social credit points with which to buy cigarettes and spinach like plants and pig and duck and chicken carcasses. They own not very much but they are happy. Many are missing eyes, fingers, and feet. It’s fine because shoes, gloves, and eyeglasses are expensive to the makers so that the end user might pay less.
Fingers for toilet paper.
To ensure your safety, cameras watch you clean your bottom.
When burning garbage, be sure to be safe and wear the appropriate PPE.
Where are the carbon credits?
