Once Were Warriors
Mutterings And Murmurs . Social StudiesBefore the white plague of European conquests descended on the New World, native or aboriginal cultures lived in relative peace and in harmony with the lands they wandered through and settled in. They stopped being nomadic warriors and became settlers. They lived in harmony with nature and either adapted to their chosen home or altered their home to meet their needs. Depending on the type of culture or society they developed, these groups dealt with any undesirable behaviours of it’s members with public shaming or shunning, or in extreme cases, just marched them into the wilds and set them loose to live or die on their own. Later, they developed written laws, police, and courts to manage their societies and keep good order as they grew. There was a need to keep the people safe from internal and external threats. There were often external threats from other societies. There were wars. People behaved badly.
Most often societies adopted belief systems that required worship of perceived higher powers to help guide good behaviour and punish bad behaviour. Between the spiritual and the secular, practical rules of good governance, the undesirable or criminal were apprehended and punished appropriately as society or the group would see fitting. Over a few generations appropriate punishments for various social or political crimes could range from shunning, dunking, hanging, stocking, flogging or burning at the stake, to imprisonment and briefly back to hanging and then to lethal injections. Certain religions required more brutal methods of death and torture to correct behaviour of those deemed to be either worth saving or killing. The Spanish Inquisition comes to mind but that was Europa. Power, wealth, and control were the desired outcomes. The death penalty was meant to deter serious crimes but as societies developed and became prosperous, easy ways and new ideologies of low morality and blaming government and society for crime, just corporate punishment for crimes were deemed to be cruel and unusual.
There were and are primitive political ideologies, disguised as religion, that did and do ‘an eye for an eye’ form of justice that would require a thief to have the offending appendage lopped off so as to prevent any further thefts. For the crime of homosexuality, those so fingered would be subject to the whims of the local authority. The accused Homosexual could be thrown from a tall building, have a wall toppled onto him, be buried up to their necks and be stoned to death, immolated, emasculated or eviscerated. Child rapists and pedophiles could be given a pass and excused and released because their culture allowed child marriage or buggery. Females of these cultures had no laws to protect them. Cultural laws could require girls to be genitally mutilated so that they might not enjoy physical pleasure from the men that own them, so they can focus on making babies. These cultures have laws that allow women or children to be killed for suspected acts of defiance or infidelity. Honor is prized.
Some laws.
Some punishment.
In the modern Western world, the lines of what constitutes justice for certain crimes are blurred depending on the blend of WOKE or Social Justice that has been allowed to permeate modern society. To these influential groups, crime is a direct result of social injustice, marginalization, or discrimination so as to say that the criminal or deviant should bear no responsibility for their actions and be allowed to re-enter society with only a promise not to rape and murder another child…and perhaps some community service…at a childcare facility.
What constitutes a crime when a society becomes lawless, when life becomes cheap, when humanity has turned on itself? When bureaucrats and technocrats and governments come for you, your children, and those you hold dear, what will you do? Who are the criminals? What are their crimes? What should their punishment be? Who will mete out the punishment? There is a great irony in, when crimes are being committed with impunity, that humanity must be pushed down to save humanity, that evil must be fought with greater but justified evil in the absence of divine intervention.
Do we return to primitive and brutish ways to deter further crimes against us and re-order society? Do we resort to vigilantism to bring vengeance against our oppressors?
Should public beheadings and hangings be brought back into fashion?
Should the heads of criminals be placed on pikes?
Should we recreate a scene from the ‘Hannibal’ franchise and feed living war criminals to packs of hungry, specially bred wild Russian boars?
Should it be a very public event?
Should there be beer and snacks?
Bread and circus?
Societies have returned to tribalism. Multiculturalism, Identity Politics, and Political Correctness have divided populations more than they have ever been in history. More recently the divide has been whittled and culled down to only three groups.
- The afraid, devoted, suicidal, ignorant and compliant.
- The defiant, awake, and truth seeking remnants of humanity.
- The Globalists that want both sides dead to a manageable degree.
Which tribe do you identify with?
The afraid and compliant tribe has lost courage and the ability to defend themselves from their real enemies. They now wear different costumes and asphyxiating masks. They no longer carry weapons to hunt and defend themselves. They no longer carry spears. They skip the dishes. They carry their heads low and their shrieking, keening self righteous virtue on their chest.
They are already dead.
Why are they so hard to fight?
They allow themselves to be speared.
Do we give them gifts of pox laden blankets?
They will die in the millions or billions.
What of our tribe?
Many once were warriors. They defended their own. They prospered. They co-operated with and respected nature and natural law. They wanted peace but trained for war.
They traded in their will to survive for a few pieces of silver, cheap foreign goods, trinkets and beads. Cheap liquor and opiates were treasured. Pots, pans, and kettles were not needed. They no longer knew how to hunt, gather or cook food. They did not do anything useful but they did nothing to twerking Satanic Hip Hop.
The defiant, awake, and truth seeking tribe are growing in numbers. More of them are waking up and gaining the courage to stand up and move against groups 1 and 3. They are getting angry enough to allow lower, more primitive feelings and actions to overtake their morality and humanity to save themselves and defeat their enemies.
The Globalists are determined to see groups 1 and 2 destroy each other before they move in with non human foreign armies to mop up. They are rubbing their hands together. They are toasting each other with babies blood and adrenochrome. They hate groups 1 and 2 more than they hate themselves.
This is war!
‘Once Were Warriors’ is a gritty and heart rending New Zealand film about urban Maori life that was released in 1994, directed by Lee Tamahori. It was not an easy watch. It was based on Alan Duff’s 1990 first novel of the same name.

“They are already dead, why are they so hard to fight?”
“They allowed themselves to be speared”
This is the darkest that I’ve read here, so obviously my favourite
so far.
I have been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this website. Thanks , I will try and check back more frequently. How frequently you update your web site?
Thanks for your comments. I usually update only when I think I have something to say.
