It’s Official- All Maskers Are Heroes
Mutterings And Murmurs . Social Studies . UncategorizedHero: a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character : a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model or ideal or an animal acknowledged for its courageous acts, devotion to duty etc. : a being of godlike prowess and beneficence who often came to be honored as a divinity
Typically, anyone that has been held up as a hero has performed some great and selfless act of fearlessness to either help a fellow being in distress or defend a fellow being from some act of malevolence. The hero typically has stepped out or stepped up outside of a crowd or the herd to stand against perceived or actual threats or actual physical harm or danger. The image of a bystander at a house fire running into a building to rescue a child or pet that the firemen have missed or given up on. Or a woman who, after years or staying silent while her husband abuses their daughter, breaks and blows the bastards head off with an improperly stored shotgun. Or a concerned citizen who seizes the opportunity to punch a smug and corrupt politician in the face without regard to the consequences.
Recently, the concept of hero and heroism has changed. The concept has been watered down, usually for political or social advantage. Money often determines who becomes a hero or who falls from grace. Celebrities and movie stars had false histories made for them by public relations and their agents. They were deemed to be brave and courageous when, in lieu of talent, exposed their body parts and sexuality or engaged in on screen sex. Hard and soft core porn are now mainstream. Pedophilia is being promoted as a mere lifestyle choice requiring understanding, inclusion and sympathy. It’s as if exhibiting inhibition or a lack of morality or humanity were acts of moral courage. Dictators and tyrants who destroyed societies and killed millions had statues erected and songs sung to celebrate their heroism.
More recently, mainstream narratives boldly proclaimed that EVERYONE who complied with or were coerced into acts of submission are heroes. Healthcare workers who were threatened and browbeaten into compliance are hailed as front-line heroes. There are many fine people in the field that have been frightened into compliance. This might be heroism but it is not of the same relevance as the career of Florence Nightingale or the battle surgeons and nurses during any of the horrific and savage wars that have plagued the world. Any frightened soldier who leapt over the top of a World War I trench to single handedly take out, under threat of certain death, an enemy machine gun placement and also rescue two fallen comrades could very well be deemed a hero. Anyone who stood up and acted for the rights of many against the oppression of a few was also seen to be a hero, and rightly so. Martyrs were most often heroes. They died so that others may live and to fight for a good cause.
Sounds heroic enough.
Masks in all their forms have become the new plastic shopping bags that the GREEN WOKE mob are determined to ban. If maskers were truly serious, and unhinged enough about preventing the prevention and acquisition of the fake virus and truly determined to save grandma and signal the greatest of virtues, they would pull a plastic bag, or three, over their heads, wrap and tie it around their necks and breathe deeply until they and everyone else are safe.
Sounds heroic enough.
