Dear Health Minister – Now a Series

Dear Alberta Health Minister Adriana LaGrange,

  The following notice appeared in a public on-line communication :

“Alberta’s regulatory college for medical doctors – The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) – is proposing updates to its Standards of Practice that would force doctors to participate in the killing of preborn babies by abortion or the killing of the sick, the elderly, or those with mental illness by assisted suicide, by requiring doctors opposed to such practices to actively refer patients to someone who will provide it.

  The CPSA’s proposed wording states that doctors must “proactively maintain an effective referral plan for the frequently requested services they are unwilling to provide”.

  This means that if the CPSA has its way, doctors will be forced to violate their conscience or face disciplinary actions or even give up their practice.”

Could the health ministry comment on this notice to verify if this is a proposal that is being considered? If so, why?

Recent history, as has been documented in the National Citizen’s Inquiry and the International COVID Summit, reveal the tragic consequences of medical practitioners at all levels who have abandoned the Hippocratic Oath. This proposal adds to the threat to bodily autonomy and personal sovereignty presented by the World Health Organization’s ‘Pandemic Treaty’.

  As The Government of Alberta continues to make improvements to our healthcare in Alberta, should we not also consider that further proposals from governments and non-government organizations could very well undo any positive changes made? Can the health ministry also acknowledge that the rebuilding of trust in our healthcare system must also be addressed?

  If healing and reform is to be a priority, the issue of transparency and accountability of past performance must also be addressed. The current administration cannot expect that Albertans simply forget the harms done to so many over the past four years.
