British Cop Shows
Social StudiesJust about every country with an active police service and a film and television industry has made the sustained leap to portray police as the only arbiters of law and order and the keepers of peace. The police are often billed and promoted as the public servants at ground level who serve and protect the people and uphold the laws of the land. They are to promote law and order. They take an oath.
Most cop shows or detective dramas must have key elements in varying degrees to capture the attention and devotion of the the intelligent and the delayed or retarded viewer. The elements are interchangeable depending on the target audience.
- A diversely WOKE and inclusive police force that represents all races, creeds, colours, sexual orientations and ideologies
- Troubled or conflicted officers that have a difficult past or are having mental health issues caused by the job
- Equity to ensure that even those lacking the intelligence, humanity, or the needed physicality required to do the job
- Political correctness that dumbs down the audience to accept hypocrisy and apologize for bad policing
- Corrupt, rogue officers who abuse power for financial gain
- Closet psychopathic police officers who use their uniform to abuse women and traffic children
- Serial killers who become a cop to better vet their victims and cover their crimes
- Quirky, smoking forensic specialists and pathologists
- Lovable criminals and funny cops
- The boozy ladies man detective that always gets his man or woman, or any variation thereof
So much for the helpful and friendly Bobby on the corner.
Righto mum!
Lately the police are fighting everything but crime. Pedophiles and Islamic terrorists run amok with impunity. Oxygen and bodily autonomy enthusiasts are beaten, arrested, harassed, jailed, isolated, segregated gassed, and shamed. Fascist health officials from the NHS use the police to back unlawful orders and mandates. Politicians use police in ways that make the police abandon their oaths.
The ‘Office of Constable’ requires that police academy graduates swear an allegiance to the Crown.
It goes something like this.
I do solemnly and sincerely
declare and affirm that I will well
and truly serve the Queen in the
office of constable, with fairness,
integrity, diligence and
impartiality, upholding
fundamental human rights and
according equal respect to all
people; and that I will, to the
best of my power, cause the
peace to be kept and preserved
and prevent all offences against
people and property; and that
while I continue to hold the said
office I will to the best of my skill
and knowledge discharge all the
duties thereof faithfully
according to law.”
The Origin Of Common Law
The English common law originated in the early Middle Ages in the King’s Court (Curia Regis), a single royal court set up for most of the country at Westminster, near London. Like many other early legal systems, it did not originally consist of substantive rights but rather of procedural remedies. The working out of these remedies has, over time, produced the modern system in which rights are seen as primary over procedure. Until the late 19th century, English common law continued to be developed primarily by judges rather than legislators.
The common law of England was largely created in the period after the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Anglo-Saxons, especially after the accession of Alfred the Great (871), had developed a body of rules resembling those being used by the Germanic peoples of northern Europe.

Other than the part that states that ‘rights are seen as primary over procedure‘.
Rights have been taking a beating lately, much like the people that are waking up to the fact that they actually have rights under the law. If laws are meaningless, what are the police upholding? Rights and freedoms are being mandated and procedured out of existence.
Why don’t governments just send the police, army, and riot thug squads out into crowds wielding toxic needles instead of truncheons, batons, draft horses, tear gas, rubber bullets, and clubs. Why not take the police and riot squads and private armies and other provocateurs out of it entirely and just drop the lethal toxins from the sky in vapour trails or put it into the water?
Wait a minute.
Isn’t this happening right now?
What will happen when the people rise up by the millions and billions to return police brutality in kind?
This is happening but not nearly enough.
Is all of the brutality and tears and blood and death and suffering just a sideshow to keep the people busy while they are killed in other ways? Are the violence and riots and protests and police thug induce injuries and deaths just another cop show? Are the victims mere crisis actors? Is any of it real?
Pass the popcorn.
Use real butter.
These might be end times.
Salt liberally.
