Airdrie Mayor Delivers Annual State of the City Address – Airdrie City View – Cassie Hearn Jun 2, 2022
‘Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown delivered his annual State of the City address on June 2 at the Woodside Golf Course, highlighting the current City council’s focus on transportation, recreation, the environment, economic development, advocacy, and having an informed and engaged community.’
“[Airdronians] are our customers and if we’re not doing the job we should be doing for you, then we want to hear from you,” Brown said. “That’s been probably the best part of my experience here.” – Mayor Peter Brown
“Too bad gaslighting and bullshit are so easily consumed” – Howard
The City Of Airdrie is not a city with an elected government backed by public servants whose sole purpose is to manage infrastructure and the business of balancing financial matters. Too often, and as if directed or incentivized to do so, they engage in social engineering initiatives that advance non-government organizational agendas. ESG and DEI and other acronyms are encroaching on the corporation.
The city of Airdrie, like all cities of Canada and even the country that we call Canada is established and run as a corporation – and not one that you can trust either.

Municipal corporations as enterprises
According to one definition of the term, municipal corporations are organizations with independent corporate status, managed by an executive board appointed primarily by local government officials, and with majority public ownership. Some such corporations rely on revenue from user fees, distinguishing them from agencies and special districts funded through taxation, although this is not always the case. Such municipal corporations result from a process of “externalization”, and require different skills and orientations from the respective local governments, and follow common changes in the institutional landscape of public services. They are argued to be more efficient than government bureaucracies, but have higher failure rates because of their legal and managerial autonomy.
