Give Me Liberty Or…?
Mutterings And Murmurs . Poly Tics . Social Studies
No matter what you elbows up or down folk might think about the United States of America, it’s past, present and plausibly dystopian future, it was founded on basic ideas of liberty from the writings of America’s founders. There is a cracked bell, a symbol of damaged liberty, displayed on the troubled streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. By the way, Bruce Springsteen was not a founding father. Anyhoo, how the bell cracked is a legend open to historical and revisionist interpretation but this special bell is alleged to have been one of many that was rung on July 8, 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was was first read to the American public and remains as a symbol of freedom of a bygone American era.
There is also another monument of questionable origin and possibly hidden symbolic conflict on Ellis Island in New York harbor called The Statue Of Liberty which is recognized as a universal icon of freedom, international friendship and democracy. Lady Liberty welcomed genuine and necessary immigrants to The Promise Land. There is of course a Globalist Cultural Marxist attempt to rewrite history or invent new meanings for this symbol and others to sabotage history and cultural identity with the intent of destroying any ideas of liberty that might unify those that might rebel against current galloping tyranny.
Anyhoo.

As with the Ten Commandments or the principles of God’s Law, or even The 12 Steps, there are related 28 basic and sensible principles of liberty that are meant to guide governments to direct peace, morality, equality, prosperity, justice and liberty for all.
Read them and weep or celebrate and act to recover those principles that are being lost. Anarchists may do and think what they like. Pick and choose the ones that make the most sense to you. Build your own constitution and a free society. Perhaps a free republic of Alberta might adopt a few.

Let’s read.

I’m a bit partial to principles 2,7,11,13,14,15,18,19,26, and 27 myself.
Canada proposed similar unifying ideas into a document called The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms way back in 1960 and revised it in 1982 to better promise what is rarely delivered and is rendered useless and pointless by a prominent, Godless and pervasive globalist agenda. It is a document scribed on smallpox riddled parchment not suitable for sanitary wiping.
Bruce Springsteen is/was an American troubadour. His haunting 1993 hit song, ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ was meant to be a poignant expression of isolation, physical and emotional decay, and the struggle for understanding amidst real suffering. It was written for a film with the same title that portrayed the planned AIDS/HIV depopulation crisis that was launched against the non-heterosexual people of the world by pharmaceutical corporations and a cabal or two. Tom Hanks was in this film. Make what you want of it.

‘Streets of Philadelphia’ – Bruce Springsteen
I was bruised and battered
I couldn’t tell what I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
Saw my reflection in a window
And didn’t know my own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me wastin’ away
On the streets of Philadelphia?
I walked the avenue, ’til my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Just as black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia
Ain’t no angel gonna greet me
It’s just you and I my friend
And my clothes don’t fit me no more, I walk
Thousand miles just to slip this skin
Night has fallen, I’m lyin’ awake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia?
A far better representation of the American experience, of ‘Life’s Rich Pageant’ ,was portrayed by the legendary and still relevant folk alt college rockers and balladeers known as R.E.M.
Let’s put our heads together and start a new country up
Our father’s father’s father tried
Erased the parts he didn’t like
Let’s try to fill it in, bank the quarry river, swim
We knee-skinned it you and me
We knee-skinned that river red
This is where we walked, this is where we swam
Take a picture here, take a souvenir
This land is the land of ours, this river runs red over it
We knee-skinned it you and me
We knee-skinned that river red
And we gathered up our friends, bank the quarry river, swim
We knee-skinned it you and me, underneath the river bed
This is where we walked, this is where we swam
Take a picture here, take a souvenir
Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone
Let’s put our heads together, start a new country up
Underneath the river bed we burned the river down
This is where they walked, swam, hunted, danced and sang
Take a picture here, take a souvenir
Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone
Rewrite the book and rule the pages
Saving face, secured in faith
Bury, burn the waste behind you
This land is the land of ours, this river runs red over it
We are not your allies, we can not defend
This is where they walked, this is where they swam
Take a picture here, take a souvenir

“The Cuyahoga is a river that runs through Cleveland Ohio. During the battles with American Indians in the late 1800s the US Cavalry dumped hundreds of bodies in it. Hence the river red line and the Indian imagery. In the 1970’s, the city of Cleveland had polluted the river so bad, that at one point it ended up catching on fire. I think that what Michael’s saying here is throughout american history, we destroyed the native people and then we went and destroyed their land. He’ saying we oughtta fix things while we still have time. Learn from the mistakes of our forefathers etc.”
