Do We Have A Right To Unmedicated Water – Another Plea To Government
Poly Tics . Social Studies
Following is yet another letter to our provincial and municipal governments to stop poisoning our water supply. Legal challenges are being met with bureaucracy and lawfare. Proven scientific data and common sense is being ignored lending credence to the reality of another agenda. Appeals to the ethics, morality or humanity of forcing medication on a populations demanding a right to bodily autonomy have gone unanswered. Is it ironic that our government wants to force medication that has serious negative health consequences on us while banning and restricting and even criminalizing other medications that can actually help us? Somehow our governing bodies still want support and funding to stay in power.
Dear Premier Smith,
I am concerned that the recent amendments to our Alberta Bill Of Rights are being violated. Notwithstanding the many notwithstanding clauses contained therein, I call attention to Section 1 (h) where I have the right to not be subjected to receiving medical care, medical treatment or a medical procedure without my consent as an individual with capacity, just as in Section 1 (i) where I have a right to not be subjected to, or coerced into receiving a vaccine without consent.
With reference to the recent re-introduction of HYRDOFLUOROCILICIC ACID (HSFA) into our potable water supply in Calgary, and by default, in Airdrie where I reside, under the premise that it is a medical treatment directed at our collective oral health and notwithstanding the basis of data and a clearly incomplete and selective low information vote on whether involuntary mass medication of the population is good for us, this is a violation of our right to not be medicated without our consent. How is fluoridation different from any vaccination program in this regard?
I am part of a growing number of concerned citizens who profoundly object to being mass medicated without informed consent as a right to bodily autonomy. There is a profound body of evidence that is quite clear that fluoridation is not safe or effective in preventing periodontal disease of any kind. Municipalities and government ministries that are engaged in or allowing mass fluoridation have been presented with valid and current scientific evidence but their collective response, if they respond at all, is to cite the status quo ‘safe and effective’ narratives offered by Health Canada and other agencies. I have sent letters of concern to The Minister Of Justice and The Minister Of Municipal Affairs as well as The Minister Of Health but have only received responses that offer advice on finding sources of legal aid and ,of course, the standard ‘safe and effective’ narrative. Our MLAs and municipalities that should be our local representatives do not respond and do not seem to be concerned with our right to safe potable water or bodily autonomy, and by default, the relevance and importance of our Alberta Bill Of rights or even The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms. The mass medication of our water supply by municipalities and bureaucrats that do not have a license to do so is a violation of very specific laws. This should be of interest to any agency that oversees law and justice in this province but we are only met with an invitation and advice of seeking a legal remedy which is proving difficult as can be seen with the current attempts at an injunction against The City Of Calgary over the mass medication of our water supply.
On a very personal note, I am living through an incurable cancer diagnosis using various treatments to hopefully improve my length and quality of life. I also take very seriously what I allow into my body. I choose what goes into it. Fluoride is a known and proven neurotoxin and carcinogen so I refuse to ingest it. I am quite capable of looking after my dental health as well and will choose the treatments and products recommended by health experts I trust. If there is a population that is ‘vulnerable’ to oral and dental health issues, our government might consider offering healthy food and dental care products to those affected rather than mass medicating the entire population with a product that is proven not to be safe and effective. At the very least, citizens that object to mass medication through the water supply should be offered mitigation to protect themselves from it by way of filtration. The cost of protecting households and families from this treatment can be prohibitive. The government has a choice. Either stop this process or financially subsidize the infrastructure needed for us to protect ourselves from this overreach and outrage.
This issue leaves me to wonder if the amended Alberta Bill Of Rights has any value and whether, to a larger extent, that The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms is a document that still protects us from harmful government overreach specifically Section (7) which states that, “Everyone has a right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice”. The liberty and security piece extends to medical freedom, does it not? Do I, as a Canadian citizen still have a legal right of life, liberty, and personal security? Is safe drinking water not a fundamental right that should not require individual or group legal action to protect?
Perhaps the larger question that must be asked, amid the other pressing matters being addressed by or current government and the noise of other geopolitical issues and threats, is why our elected officials at any level are refusing to engage on an issue that affects so many of us common folk that value personal choice over government overreach. ‘The Alberta Next Panel’ proposes to listen to us.
Do you hear us? Once again, I write to you to receive more that an automated reply thanking me for writing. As ever, I am available for any substantive dialogue and action from any elected or un-elected member of our public service.
Sincerely,
Al Neitsch
