NORTH WINDS BLOWING – I Wish I Was A Believer
Poly Tics . Social Studies . Songs For The ApocalypseI woke up this morning to the sound of a window rattling and the rush and bump of a Chinook wind battering against the house. As is usual, the neighbors aluminum railing whistled and howled with the sound of re-cycle bins playing bumper cars adding to the rumbling noise. Another airplane made a low pass overhead. This morning, the wind was blowing from the west but these days wind and weather and destruction can from any direction…at any time…any season. I think about the winds of Jasper, Kelowna, Lytton, Lahaina, Valparaiso, Tenerife, Florida, Saudi Arabia, and the Carolinas…and any of the other places on this earth that have been affected by some very suspect climate change events. Honorable and tragic mention to the recent DEWY HAARPY ginned up Santa Ana winds that helped blowtorch people places and things in California. Winds bring change. A differential change in barometric pressure. Crispy critters. A change in direction. A change in weather. A change in mood. When the sting jet whiplash weather bomb winds blow, my nerve endings bristle and my mind flashes back to every wind shear event I experienced while travelling anywhere by motorcycle, especially the smokey terror of a mad dash north on Highway 223 from Fort Benton, Montana to Chester. The horror. The horror.
The Stranglers were a British ‘punk rock’ band that were every bit as controversial and innovative as The Sex Pistols but had the success of 23 top 40 singles and 20 top 40 albums and a longevity that spanned 50 years or so. Their sound covered many genres with songs like ‘Peaches’ to ‘Skin Deep’ and ‘No Mercy’. I remember dancing to ‘Skin Deep’ and ‘No Mercy’ at a dance club in Montreal in the early 80’s. I also saw Husker Du and Frankie Goes To Hollywood while I was there. Another story perhaps.
‘North Winds’ is basically an anti-war song released during a time when world war and various attocities only hummed in the background. The song resonates with the raging wars, biological, kinetic and meteorlogical, now being waged against all people by hypocritical elitest new world order, clownish death cult, master of war bureaucrats.
North Winds Blowing – The Stranglers
I saw an orange robe burning
I saw a youth on fire
I saw metal machines that were turning
On a generation that hadn’t yet tired
I heard of two generations being murdered
In a Europe that was shrouded in black
I witnessed the birth pains of new nations
When the chosen people finally went back
North Winds Blowing
I wish it would blow all away
North Winds Blowing
I wish they would blow all away
I wish they would blow all away
I saw freedom in the shape of disease
And mainly men had to quench their desire
And while a few could do just as they pleased
I saw kids whose bellies were all on fire
When all is dead and war is over
When hollow victory has been won
Who will join in the celebration
Of the evil that just can’t be undone?
North Winds Blowing
I wish it would blow all away
North Winds Blowing
I wish they would blow all away
I wish they would blow all away
I used to dream about destruction
But now that I feel it getting near
I spend my time watching the ocean
And waves are all I want to hear
I wish I was a believer
I’d spend less time in being sad
So many laws against disbelieving
Don’t know who’s good or who’s bad
